She Grows so Fast.

Being a mommy is the best thing that has ever happened to me.
My 2 year old daughter is just amazing. Yes a hand full and more, but amazing non the less.

She went from being a cute little ball, that needed me for everything.

To a big girl who thinks she can do it all on her own.

I feel bad sometimes when I look at her.
I feel bad for not taking more pictures.
for not spending more time with her.
for not holding onto every moment with her.

She has turned into this whole person.
She has her own opinions, talks more words than I thought I ever taught her.
She knows right from wrong, even if she doesn't always choose right.
She says thanks yous and pleases.
She is scared of the dark and being left behind.
She love to eat cereal and cookie. She would eat nothing but if she had her way.

She's my " boo boo baby" and she's tell you that.

Sick babies.

The month of November has been nothing but a sick month here in Darlin' Country. It started off with the hubs then went to me and now to our kid.
She is not a sick kid. She has only been really sick like once before in her life. So it scares me every time she gets a little sick.
It started around Wednesday with a cough.
Thursday the cough got worse and lose of appetite. Poor baby didn't even eat much on Thanksgiving.
Then Sunday it went to diarrhea and runny nose. Some really bad stuff.
So by Monday when she still wasn't eating and running a fever, we took her right to the children's hospital.
The hubs came by my job looking for her health care card. As soon as I looked at her I knew she was feeling really bad. I told my bosses I had to leave.

We got to the hospital, her regular doctor was closed at the time. At 1st we felt like we were just over reacting.
Then she got in to see the doctor and then wanted to take xrays. Completely freaking me out. I have never even had xrays, but now my baby was.
She did so good. She let the doctor look at her. She only started crying when they wanted her to lay down. She called the doctor mean then, really cute.
She did amazing during the xrays. We told her she was going to get her picture taken. So she layed real still and said cheese each time.
The xrays looked good and they ruled it out as a sinus infection.
All in all, I'm glad I over react about things like this. I feel it's better to be safe than sorry.

Easy Riding Toddler Bed

Last week, the day after Skylee's 2nd birthday, we turned her baby bed into a big girl bed.
I was more than scared about how this was going to turn out. I have heard all the horror stories and I didn't wanna deal with any of that right now. I went online and read around about toddler beds and ages and what not. In the end I decided to at least give it a try.
I was just about in tears taking the side of her bed off. I'm just not ready for a big girl. I wanted her to be my baby forever.
She did so good the 1st night. She didn't even get out of the bed. She has been doing awesome with sleeping at night. She hasn't thrown any fits or wrecked her room or any of that horror story stuff.
Naps are a different story. She's not bad or anything, she just won't go to sleep. She'll stay in the bed and play with her toys and read books. This is fine and all until about 5 or 6 pm when she gets all cranky at me.
But all an all this big girl bed thing is going very easy.
I miss my baby, but I also love to see her grow and become such a wonderful little girl.

2nd Birthday for my Doodle.

Skylee turned 2 on tomorrow. We had her party yesterday. I have been planning this party for a month and I think it call turned out pretty good.
I made the banner and I think it turned out great!
We had banana cupcakes and brownies with chips and cheese.
This was the best picture I got of her outfit.
My mom did all the picture taking and I need to get them from her.

Skylee had a awesome time. She loved the whole thing other than everyone sharing at her as we sung Happy Birthday. She wouldn't even blow out her candles.
Tomorrow we are taking her to Monkey Joe's for her real birthday and Maybe I'll get some better pictures!

Happy Monday everyone!

NO Justice for Caylee Anthony.

This poor little girl got no justice. Someone killed her and I believe her killer just got let lose. All the evidence was there in their face. And still they let her go free.
I believe where here not to judge that's not our job, but someone killed that baby. As a mother of a baby girl myself, this makes my sick to my stomach. The baby had duct tape on her mouth. Someone put it there, it just didn't happen by itself. Casey Anthony was googling about chloroform. Why would she need to do that?
And the story was she drowned in the pool right? Then who is getting charged with child abuse? No one. That wouldn't happen here in Georgia. Let your child fell and get a cut on their leg and see is DEFCS ain't all over your ass. Her baby drown in a pool ( so they say) why isn't she getting charged with child abuse? I guess I should move to Florida and get away with murder too.
SO much was wrong with that trail. If she didn't do it, then why didn't she get on the stand? She claimed her dad made her cover up the drowning. He said he didn't have anything to do with it. So how did the jury come to a end in the case. We still don't know what happen.
We do know that baby is dead and someone did it.
But it seems that we'll never know now. Way to go Florida, you did a awesome job of letting a killer go!

Baby's 1st Sentence

That's right, Skylee said her 1st sentence last night.
She said, " night night dada."
It happened last night as I was carry her off to her bedroom. Scotty said, " Good Night Skylee." and looked over my shoulder and said, "night night dada."
It was so cute. I was in utter shock. Where did she learn to do that? She is growing up to darn fast.

It seems like just a few months ago I was taking this picture in the hospital as she slept. She was so tiny. She was so sweet. Now, now she's something else. She walks and feeds herself, and now she is saying sentences. What next? Is she going to be dressing herself? That I might now mind too bad.
I'm so tore about her growing up. Scotty isn't, he likes that she's getting older. Which I understand his side. She is now more fun to him. They can now play together. Before it was mostly all mommy time. When they get older they turn to the dark side and become daddy girls.
I don't miss the bottles or 2 am feedings. I don't miss the heavy carrier or keeping up with passies.
I do miss the 2 naps a day. I do miss the little cute clothes and tiny diapers that looked so darn cute. I do miss rocking her to sleep and holding her while she slept.
Gosh I feel so old. It's true having kids makes you feel old. Not just the fact that you're tired all the time. But the older they get the older you feel/get. I'm 21 years old and I feel 35.
My baby said a sentence. My baby is growing up. My baby is no longer my baby, she's a toddler.

Tips for Camping with a Toddler.

As you read in yesterday's post, we took Skylee camping with us this past weekend. All in all it was a success. We had a few melt downs and a few laughs.

Here are some things to keep in mind when camping with a toddler:
  1. Plan on not sleep alone. They will must likely be sleeping with you or on top of you.
  2. Bring lots of baby wipes and paper towels. There will be spilled juice in the tent and lots of dirty hands. ( Skylee is a real girly girl. She hates to have dirty hands.
  3. Lots of snack foods is a must. All that running around will make them hungry.
  4. Don't forget the outside toys. Running around is fun for a while, but soon that will lose it's appeal.
  5. You can forget nap time. There is too much going on for that little one to even think about napping and missing out on something that might happen.
  6. Lots of bug spray and sunscreen. Lots!
  7. If your going for the weekend bring at least five changes of clothes. They will get dirty and wet. The weather will change from the time you wake up, to the time you go to bed.
  8. A drop cord and nightlight in the tent, MUST! Nothing worse than a scared kid in a tent in the middle of no where. And it helps to see around the tent at night.
  9. Don't forget your mommy time. That the others water the baby while you relax in the tent. Take a nap or read a book.
  10. Last but not least, Have fun. Camping is suppose to be fun, not work. Yea there's work to be done, but it need to be fun too.

Baby's 1st Camping Trip

So Friday afternoon we headed for Lake Oconee. We stayed at Old Salem Campgrounds. Skylee seemed really excited when we started putting our tent up.
She loved running in and out of it and jumping on the air mattresses. She loves being outside so I knew she would love being out all day camping.
We walked around the woods and checked the place out. It was so pretty.
This was the view from our tent. That's the lake through those trees. That night we sat by the lake and fished. We had pork chops on the grill with baked beans. Skylee got to see a catfish up close and a frog, all catch by Scotty's dad.
The next morning was a little different. We got up and headed to town to by more bait and stuff. When we got back Skylee was getting kinda cranky. She did get up way before her normal time. She wanted everyone to hold her and carry her around, which wasn't happening.
This would be here through herself on the ground and screaming. She fell once and I picked her and to clean her off, so she thought she would throw herself down again. She did this for about a hour.
I figured if she wanted to lay down I would at least make her comfy. Poor baby layed down and fell asleep out in the open. She slept like this for about two hours.
Scotty cooked us breakfast on the grill. I love eating outside for some reason so this was awesome. Nothing like bacon, eggs, and grits all cooked on an open grill.
She slept right through breakfast.

Once she wake up she was off and going. She played ball and feed ducks.

it was a pretty good Saturday.
She loved that tent and so did daddy.

This is a egg Scotty found just laying out in a patch of grass all alone.

I craved mine and Scotty's letters into one of the tables. It's hard to see but it says," N & S 4 eva."

We ended the night setting by the fire and making smores.
Skylee was such a good sleeper while camping. I thought she would have been hell on two tiny feet when it ncame to night time. But she wasn't both nights she fell right asleep. On the 2nd night she even slept on her own air mattress.
Sunday morning I got a smile out of her.
The only down side of the weekend was that Skylee has a little fever and we found a tick on her shoulder Sunday morning. She ran a small fever all Sunday, but today it seems to be gone. And believe me the tick scared the crap out of me. I was home googling Lyme disease., but I'm sure now she's in the clear. LOL.
If you're ever looking for a place to camp in Georgia, Old Salem Campground is awesome. They had a beach. but it wasn't quit beach weather yet, maybe next time.

Poop Everywhere. I Can't get Away!!!!

I awake this morning to my daughter yelling from her crib. I look at the clock and decide she can wait 30mins for me to get a little more sleep. Boy I should have gotten up right then. I had no idea I would walk in on a naked baby covered in poop.
Yes that's right. My little mess decided she would change her own diaper because she thought mommy wasn't coming to save her. She just had no idea what kind of a mess she would make. She didn't look so happy with her decision. Poop was on hands, legs, and feet.
This was a 1st for me. And being as native as I am, I always thought, "Oh that will never happen to me." Boy was I wrong. I always heard of it happening to others and I couldn't figure out why it happened. I always put bottoms on her to make sure she couldn't get to her diaper. Even in the summer I would put on those bottoms that came with dresses, you know that ones that look like cute little panties. Never did I think that she would get to the age to be able to take her clothes off.
Needless to say we took a early morning bath. And I will never put anything passed my little mess.

Oh! How Our Bodies Change After Kids

Pre Baby Body: I weighed around 110lb. I had a toned tummy and legs from walking and working all the time. I didn't have much of a butt, but I looked great. Some say I looked too skinny and I had many nicks names for that reason.

After Baby Body: I weigh around 133lb. I have a pooch belly. My legs have no muscle at all from all my staying at home and really doing nothing. I have more than the butt I would have wanted. I have horrible cellulite. I have never had cellulite in my life. Now it's taking over the back of my legs. My poor legs look like the face of the moon. I know we all get it. Even Briteny Spears got it and she looked amazing before kids.

My poor hubby has to hear all this all the time. He'll tell me I'm pretty. I'll say how, then turn around and grab the fat cellulite on the back of my leg and show him. He'll say I'm a mommy now and that's what happens. Well Heidi Klum has 4 kids and look at her, perfect. Oh Heidi trade body's with me, PLEASE!

How mean God is on women's bodies. When we are born our bodies are smooth and soft. We get older and have kids and turn into lumpy beauty's, with all our cellulite and stretch marks. It's not fair. Then again life isn't fair.
Some women are so into having babies that they embrace their stretch marks and fat, well not me. I love my daughter with all my heart, but she did this. No I take that back, her father did this. And I don't have to be happy about it, but I'll live.

Thanks of putting on with my rant.

Lost Preggo Pictures

I feel so sad. I was looking through some facebook pages and seeing everyone with their pregnant pictures up. I had some up, but they were on Myspace. I deleted myspace a while back and saved the pictures on my netbook. Which if you've been reading my blog for a while you know the story of the dead baby netbook. So all gone. My mom has some of the pictures but not all. So I wanted to share some of the pregnant pictures that I do still have.

I was 5months here. Scotty was home for 4days right before he deployed. We had just found out I was having a girl. I look horrible.
This is my friend Quianna and me. Again I look horrible. I was 8months here. It was July. I was dieing from the heat. And to make it worse I was staying at my mom's house that had no A/C. The 2nd picture is my professional preggo shot. I was 7 or 8 months here. Super cute picture!
This was me and my aunt ( yes preggo at the same time, I was farther along). This was the day before I went into labor at 36 weeks.

After 8 hours of labor ( that's another story ), I had this pretty little 5lb 14oz baby girl.

16, Pregnant, and Married

I have been watching 16 & Pregnant from the beginning with Maci, Amber, Farrah, Catlin, and those other girls who didn't make it to Teen Mom. On their season there was no getting married. They were pregnant and maybe engaged, which didn't last long.
The newest season, I have been watching, these girls are getting married left and right. Just a few episodes into the season and I have already seen two weddings.
I think this season is just wrong. It's giving young girls the idea that they can just have a baby and get married and live a happy life.
I believe marriage is nothing to take lightly. It's not easy in anyway. It's even harder when you throw a baby into the mix.
Being young myself, had a baby and married at 20, I know how hard it is trying to hold together a marriage and raise a baby. You're no longer just playing house. These girls don't even have a house. They are living with their parents.
If my daughter came to me pregnant at 16, God I hope this doesn't happen, I surely would not let her get married. These parents, in my opinion this is my blog, should have made them wait. I'm not going to get into the baby part of the fixture, but they should have waited until they got married. I kept hearing the girls say they didn't wanna be fat when they got married, so they got married before the baby. These girls are living in a true fantasy.
To show other girls, who are watching this show, they should do a update show on each girl other than the update show they do with Dr. Drew. They should go back into their homes and show everyone how home life is now after the show. I truly hope girls aren't looking up to these girls.
