Bettie Page was born April 22, 1923 in the heart of Tennessee. At a young age her parents split, causing a lot of money problems for her mother. At the age of 10 she was placed in a orphanage. In her teen years she learned to sew at a local community center. This came in handy as she made her own bikinis and costumes.
Bettie got her 1st model job in San Francisco, modeling fur coats for clients. In 1950 Bettie had her 1st pinup portfolio put together by a cop she met on Coney Island. She had no idea her world was about to change in a large way. In 1955 Bettie won Miss Pinup Girl of the World. Also in 1955 she was Playboy's Centerfold in the January issue.
Bettie has done everything from bikini photos, to lingerie, to bondage, and of course pin up.
Bettie Page, the girl from Nashville, is today a icon of beauty. With her dark hair and bright smile she is and will always be the queen of Pin- up. Even today her style is everywhere from her iconic bangs to her pin-up style.
